BERKSHIRE FILM AND MEDIA COLLABORATIVE PRESENTS A
“POSH PICNIC” FUNDRAISER FOR BFMC’S EDUCATIONAL INITIATIVES
at TANGLEWOOD ON SUNDAY, JULY 26th

The Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative (BFMC) presents its second annual Posh Picnic benefit at Tanglewood in Lenox, MA on Sunday, July 26th from 12:00 noon – 2:30pm. This unique event raises funds for BFMC’s educational initiatives, which include workforce development courses and college workshops that teach the skills necessary to work on film sets. As Executive Director Diane Pearlman explains, “In order to grow the film and media industry in western Massachusetts, we need to have a trained workforce. As more productions come to the region, we want people in our local community to be able to work on the film crews.”

The Posh Picnic includes a delicious catered picnic lunch on the lawn, an eclectic silent auction, and Shed seating for the matinee performance of The Boston Symphony Orchestra performing an all-Mozart program with Christoph von Dohnányi conducting.  Special thanks to BFMC’s major sponsor, Tanglewood, for hosting the event. A Bloody Mary bar will feature vodka from sponsor, Berkshire Mountain Distillers.

Posh Picnic co-chairs are television producer Gordon Hyatt and author Carole Hyatt, both an integral part of the cultural scene in the Berkshires.  Gordon is an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose films for WCBS-TV focused on historical preservation and the art and culture of New York City.  Carole is a renowned author and developer of The Leadership Forum, a career initiative for women. The Posh Picnic event committee includes: Karen Allen, Lauren Ambrose and Sam Handel, Jayne Atkinson and Michael Gill, Jeffrey L. Diamond, Joe Finnegan, Holly Joyce Hunter, Nanci McConnell, Barbara Newman, and John Lawrence Ré.

Tickets for the Posh Picnic, priced at $135.00 per person, are available through the Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative. For details: call 413-528.4223 or visit www.berkshirefilm.org

Since 2009, the Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative (BFMC) has created educational, workforce and production opportunities in Western Massachusetts as a creative economic engine for the region. BFMC offers networking events for industry professionals, develops educational and workforce enrichment courses, acts as a resource for visiting productions, creates jobs within our communities in the film and media industry and provides an on-line production guide and locations database as a resource for filmmakers. Last year, the BFMC presented its first Film and Media Exchange networking event for the Western Massachusetts film industry and the professionals who need film and video for their businesses. BFMC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
