My Thoughts on September 11

Thinking of the victims of 9/11, their families and friends; remembering the first responders, the caregivers, and the outpouring of sympathy and consolation from millions. Recalling the days and months following, when strangers were compassionate, discourse was caring and polite, and people put their personal agendas aside for the greater good. And..saddened at how a nation could pull together in unity, yet fall apart mere months later as we all became victim to petty politics, bullying, fear and manipulation, and disregard of one towards another. If today is a day of remembrance and healing, it would be nice if we could walk away tomorrow with a renewed commitment towards kindness, inclusiveness, and civility.
