WGBY Announces Choirs to Perform at Live Showcase
Judges and viewers selected local singers of all ages for April 28 season finale.

Springfield, MA -- April 17, 2013 – After watching 36 adult and children’s choirs sing in various categories over four weeks, judges and viewers have selected just 9 of the groups to perform at the Together in Song Live Showcase on April 28. Here are the names of the ensembles along with the number of members in each:

Hampshire Young People’s Chorus Chamber Singers (43), Kurn Hattin Homes Select Choir (25), Edward P. Boland Elementary School Chorus (37), Deerfield Academy Chamber Singers (5), Pioneer Valley Chordsmen (13), Amherst Regional High School Chorale (25), Mak’hela: The Jewish Chorus of Western Massachusetts (40), The University of Massachusetts Chorale (100) and Lyrics (48).
Performance categories include gospel, secular classical, sacred classical, pop/doo-wop, folk/world and barbershop.

Kevin Rhodes, conductor of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, will host WGBY’s live production from Springfield’s historic Paramount Theater on Sunday, April 28 from 7-9:00pm. In addition to singing individual pieces, the choirs will perform together during the finale. They will sing the “Together in Song” theme composed, just for this event, by esteemed local musician Clifton “Jerry” Noble.
