Mark G Auerbach Public Relations: The Year in Review 2013

Mark G. Auerbach Public Relations
2013 In Review

T’is the season for giving. In lieu of client gifts, cards, and presents, we’ve taken the money we would have spent, and donated it to non-profit organizations that serve our community. We were an eager participant in the second annual Valley Gives initiative. http://valleygives.razoo.com/giving_events/VG13/home

Hopefully, we can express our appreciation to you over a latte in the coming year.

We always like to brag about our current and recent clients and partners. We were pleased to work with the following good people and organizations this past year.

Berkshire Film and Media Collaborative works to connect creative industry film and video people in Western Massachusetts, with folk who want to produce film and video here. We’re working on their steering committee to produce a film and media expo showcasing Western Massachusetts talent in 2014. http://www.berkshirefilm.com/

The Big Broadcast, the live radio show from the Jazz Ensembles at Mount Holyoke College, under the direction of Mark Gionfriddo, returns to Chapin Auditorium for two performances on Sunday, March 9, 2014. Brian Lapis emcees as “Fred Kelley”. Tickets for the 2014 show go on sale in January at the UMASS Fine Arts Center Box-Office. One of the highlights of last season’s show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sInDDOAUbWc

The Capitol Steps brought their “Fiscal Shades of Gray” tour to Sanders Theatre, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA for two performances in November, produced by the Mike Thornton Agency

Cognate Nutritionals, makers of Fuel For Thought® , the coconut oil beverage, have a new website. http://www.fuelforthought.co/

The David Pakman Show now broadcasts four times a week from New York City. http://www.davidpakman.com/

Harriet Scott Chessman released her fourth novel, “The Beauty of Ordinary Things”, published by atelier26, a small publishing house in Portland, OR. After a series of events in November in San Francisco, she completed a successful New England reading and booksigning tour. The tour resumes in January with visits to Los Gatos (January 3), Berkeley (January 18), and Palo Alto, CA (January 24).  www.harrietchessman.com

Kurn Hattin Homes for Children’s music director, Lisa, Bianconi,  is one of 10 finalists for the Grammy Foundation’s first annual Music Educator Award. We assisted Kurn Hattin through their auditions for the PBS TV choral competition, “Together in Song” at WGBY-TV. They made it through the finals, with a live performance at The Paramount Theatre in Springfield, MA. To see what Kurn Hattin does: www.kurnhattin.org. Suffield Academy, Suffield, CT, sold out its winter Futsal clinic in December. Suffield is now taking applications for the Summer Academy (June 29-August 1, 2014). We assisted Suffield with placing features on its 2013 Commencement, featuring Baystate Health CEO Mark Tolosky, Summer Academy, and more. http://www.suffieldacademy.org/podium/default.aspx?t=163116&rc=0

Victor Acquista, MD’s first book, “Pathways to Health: An Integral Guidebook” made its European debut at the Frankfurt Book Fair last October. Dr. Acquista will head to Denmark to do readings, seminars, and booksignings this Spring, when the book is published in Danish. http://pathstohealth.info/

We also helped several folk “refresh” their resumes for the changing job market. We assisted several individuals find sponsorship opportunities for projects as diverse as translating a foreign novel into English; marketing a jobs skills training center, launching a new musical revue, and building a music festival.

I continue to write features for PRIME Magazine, the “Succeeding in Small Business” blog, and The Westfield News Group. Find links to them at “Random Notes from a P.R. Guy”, my blog. http://mgauerbach.blogspot.com/

Thanks so much to our creative partners, printers, photographers, media reps, and others, who help our clients look good.

Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year to all.
