The Berkshires Go Hollywood

I'm working on a steering committee for The Berkshires Film and Media Commission, which markets Western Massachusetts as a site for filming movies, documentaries, and commercials, and connects various groups in the creative industries.

Their work is paying off. Variety featured the BFMC in a recent article. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118058365?refCatId=13

Media Release: Kurn Hattin Homes Professional Development Conference October 26

DATELINE: September 24, 2012 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contacts: Jaimie Scanlon Rapt Creative Mark G. Auerbach Mark G. Auerbach Public Relations KURN HATTIN HOMES PRESENTS WORKSHOP ON BLENDED FAMILIES ON OCTOBER 26...FEATURING HARVARD PSYCHOLOGIST DR. PATRICIA PAPERNOW WESTMINSTER, VT—Harvard psychologist Dr. Patricia Papernow will lead Kurn Hattin Homes 21st annual Professional Development Conference on October 26, 2012 at the Kurn Hattin Homes campus in Westminster, VT. Dr. Papernow, an internationally recognized expert on stepfamilies and post-divorce parenting, will present a full-day workshop titled “Untangling Blended Families.” Dr. Papernow’s workshop will focus on the five major challenges that stepfamilies face. Participants will discuss ways in which stepfamilies can meet these challenges and learn strategies for successful step-parenting and coexisting amicably with an ex-spouse. Dr. Papernow is author of the book, Becoming a Stepfamily. Additional information on Dr. Papernow is available at http://www.stepfamilyrelationships.com According to Dr. Papernow, “Kids do best when parents, stepparents, and ex-spouses cooperate and collaborate, but this is often easier said than done. The good news is that we have a lot of information about what works and what does not to meet these challenges. The bad news is that what works is often not intuitive and there is a lot of bad advice out there.” Kurn Hattin Homes has presented development conferences for health professionals, social workers and educators from all over the northeast for over 20 years. Conference organizer Susan Kessler says, “We’re very proud to be in our twenty-first year of the conference. Kurn Hattin is committed to promoting the well-being of children and families in every way we can. Offering professional development opportunities to those who work with children and families is just one example of how we do that.” The Kurn Hattin Professional Development Conference offers continuing education credits for health professionals and professional development points for educators. It is approved by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. The conference will be held from 8:45AM-3:30PM on the Kurn Hattin campus, 708 Kurn Hattin Road, Westminster, Vermont. Advance registration is required, and space is limited. Registration fee is $125.00. For registration and information https://kurnhattin.org/conference-registration, or contact Darlene Pecor at dpecor at kurnhattin.org or 802-721-6193.
